WHERE HAS MY MOJO GONE

August 16, 20233 min read

I wrote this a good few years ago but want to share my vulnerability with my readers.

Introduction:

We've all been there: that unmistakable feeling where the world seems to turn gray, and the fiery passion that once drove our every action dwindles to a mere flicker. You wake up one day and realize that the zest, that unmistakable spark, seems to have vanished. You're left wondering, "Where has my mojo gone?" This isn’t just about a fleeting mood; it's about the essence that makes you, well, YOU. But fret not, for you are not alone on this journey of rediscovery. Dive into this piece not just to explore the mysterious case of the missing mojo, but to embark on a path to reignite that inner flame. Let’s uncover the reasons, the reflections, and the reawakening's together. Because every story of lost mojo is also a story of finding it again, often brighter and more resilient than ever.

trying to find my mojo

We have all heard that expression but what does it mean: well it means “finding the magic in what we do”. When we don’t have that magic we don’t have that special spark, or that inspiration which makes us feel alive. We feel like a boat adrift at sea with no particular destination on the horizon.

Finding My Spark: A Throwback to My Vulnerable Moments

Hey!

Digging through some old journals, I stumbled upon these lines I jotted down a while back. It's kind of like finding those cringe-y yet adorable childhood photos, and I thought, why not share? We're all friends here, right?

Ever had one of those days when everything feels, well, meh? Like when you lose your favorite lip balm or miss your bus by a second. That’s how I felt about my life a few years ago. I was dreaming big for my business, picturing all the fancy neon signs and success stories. But then, doubt waltzed in, uninvited. It whispered in my ear, "Who do you think you are? Starting a business? Girl, please!"

For a hot minute, I listened to that voice. I got stuck in this loop of binge-watching shows, scribbling random thoughts on napkins, and aimlessly scrolling through the internet pretending to be on a quest for "inspiration."

But here's the tea: I was spiraling. My usually radiant vibe? Totally dimmed. I felt like my phone when it freezes up - just going in circles. But the fun part about hitting rock bottom? There’s only one way left to go: UP!

After a heart-to-heart with my son (yes, kids can be real insightful sometimes), I knew it was time for a change. My path had been leading to "Oh-No-ville," but I was determined to reroute to "Hello-Glow-up-City."

So, here’s what I did:

  • Dived into those feel-good books that give you the chills.

  • Blasted some of my favorite toe-tapping tunes.

  • Embraced a bit of zen with yoga and mindfulness.

  • Revamped my business plan over a fun weekend getaway.

  • And most crucially, I promised myself to look for the sunshine, even on cloudy days.

The moral of the story? Sometimes we get lost, even with a GPS called passion. But it’s never too late for a detour. If you ever feel stuck, remember, you've got that spark. Just give it a little nudge, and watch it shine!

Catch you on the bright side! 💫

Sending you waves of inspiration and the gentle reminder that our journeys, with all their twists and turns, are what shape our stories. Until next time, keep seeking, keep dreaming, and always believe in the magic within.
